The wrestlers
whom worked the event this past Friday did a great job. It was
a hot crowd and WAM has been invited back in the fall.
I am deciding
whether or not to do a show during the summer. WAM's following
are mostly college students. Worcester has like 14 colleges, and
obviously during the summer colleges are out of session, which
makes running a show difficult to do. We will see what happens.
Sadly the other
WAM Board of Directors and I had to release five people from WAM.
Nobody likes to have to take these actions, but it was in the
best interest of WAM to do this. I wish "The Canadian Dream"
Shayne Scott, Tank, Swat, and former WWE (WWF, WWWF) workers The
Detroit Wrecker and Richie Rich the best in their future ventures.
Summer time
is around the corner. This summer I am going to focus on ways
to promote WAM and bring former independent professional wrestling
fans back to independent wrestling here in the Worcester area.
Worcester used to be one of the hottest independent professional
wrestling scenes before WWF and WCW overtook the business. There
are a lot of fans still out there. WAM just needs to get their
attention and bring them back to the independent professional
wrestling scene. I also plan on focusing on getting the attention
of non-fans. Its a difficult venture to take on, especially when
you don't have a big advertising budget, but that is where ingenious
ideas from myself, other WAM Board of Directors, and our assistants
come into play. We need o promote WAM without a lot of money,
and we think we know of several good ways to do it. Hopefully
we are successful. :)
I want to thank
the sponsers of WAM whom have helped fund WAM events. WAM is legally
a non-profit organization and relies on sponsors to cover event
costs. It makes things a little more difficult being a non-profit
organization, but the benefits far out weigh the sores.
Please spread
the name of WAM. By doing so you are helping the wrestlers be
seen by more people and you are helping the charities WAM donates
event proceeds to. Remember, WAM is a non-profit organization,
and is run by a Board of Directors whom work voluntarily. No one
is paid. All proceeds go to charity. Helping spread WAM's name
helps the wrestlers and the charities WAM does events for.
Until next time...
KEEP IT EXTREME!!!
