It's crunch
time for Friday's show. I am finalizing, checking, and rechecking
everything for this event. Final advertisements go out this week
to the media outlets whom donate space to WAM. The media is great
to us. They love helping non-profit organizations whom do charity
fundraisers. But, unlike other wrestling promotions WAM doesn't
run a "fundraiser" then go and take 50%, 75% or more
of the proceeds from the event for itself. After basic operation
costs such as ring rental and insurance EVERYTHING gets donated
to charity. Not one single employee of WAM whether it be the Board
of Directors, the event talent, or the support staff, get paid
for their work. Everyone graciously donates their time because
WAM is a non-profit organization whom donates event proceeds to
charity after event operational costs. WAM is supported by its
gracious sponsers. They allow us to have events and raise money
for charity. Fans go to WAM shows knowing that they will see a
great show and that their ticket monies are going to charity and
not filling a greedy promoter's pockets with green.
Someone or a
few somones I should say, say that I don't know what I am doing
when it comes to promoting professional wrestling events. These
people have never been to a WAM event. There are 30+ plus feds
in New England and we draw best next to Mike Sparta's fed, and
he uses big names. We don't, so i would say I know what I am doing.
I don't play into business politics and egos... that is what peoples
problems are. I don't bow down to egos, I don't play games, I
just do what I know is fair and correct. I don't care if you have
been around for years or you are fresh out of wrestling school.
That is irrelavent to me. If you can entertain the crowd and put
on a good match at the same time thats the important thing. Frankly,
in this business most people don't remember whom wins or loses
a match. Of course people want their favoite pro wrestlers to
win, however as long as it was a good match that told a story
everyone goes home happy. My worry is WAM and not other promotions.
We are seperate entities in this business. What happens in other
promotions is none of my concern. I wish that the business succeeds
and that all promotions flourish, but there are around 30+ promotions
in New England and I can't cater to all of them to protect "their
storylines". Fans know that promotions are seperate unless
they are part of a confederation. My worries are the people whom
come to WAM events. My concern is that they go home happy. Other
feds concerns are to make sure that their fans go home happy from
their events. There is nothing wrong with friendly rivalry between
feds whom work in the same area. But, people are intentionally
trying to destruct each others federations for egotisitcal reasons.
I wish everyone could just help each other succeed and flourish
instead of making derogatory comments about each other and attempting
to make each other look bad. This isnt the big leagues where everyone
is fighting for fans. Events in New England on average are run
in different regions and very rarely will you see two promoions
running the same area the same day. There is no need for the fighting.
Put your egos aside. Do it for the business, do it for the fans,
do it for yourselves! When attempting to make another company
look bad you only degrade yourself and your promotion and you
hurt the business that you hold so dear. Work together, not against
each other. I think all feds should adopt my philosophy when it
comes to people.... leave your egos at home and to yourself. Help
the business, don't hurt it to make yourself or your promotion
look better. Attempting to do so only degrades you and your promotion.
I hope to see
all of you at our event on Friday. WAM INVADES HOLY NAME!
Until next time...
Keep it extreme!
