This will
be my first commentary since the return of WAM. Between my serious
illnesses, Bob's (Vicious Virgin) professional baseball career
and Mike's (Sonny Suavino) college classes we had been preoccupied
for about 2 years. In that time we were unable to put in enough
time and dedication to promote any WAM events. However, all three
of us now have more time available to dedicate to the promotion
of WAM. So we have brought WAM back in full force. WAM returned
on Friday, April 4, 2003. The show was a great success. The matches
and promos all went solidly and the event had an attendance of
over 350. I enjoyed returning to the ring in an officiating status.
I admit that there was some rust and stage jitters there from
not doing it in so long. On top of it I had the flu. So I was
not on top of my game. But the flu is about gone and on June 13th
WAM has another event. As a referee I will be back and better
than ever.
I was hoping
to have many pictures from this show to post on the site, however
I was to be borrowing a digital camera from my buddy Kevin. He
decided to go out and get plastered and didn't make it to the
show early enough. Next time I will be sure to get the digital
camera from him a few days in advance.
After the
last event I presented Mike (Sonny Suavino) with an award granting
him honorary WAM Champion. Unless you live in a closet you know
about Mikey almost losing his life in the fire at The Station
in Warwick, Rhode Island on February 20, 2003. He lost a good
friend in that blaze. But, Mikey continued to show true WAM spirit
and the next day was back helping us get the April 4th show together.
Mikey is an image of true heart and dedication to life and WAM.
I need to get the award from him so I can scan a picture and place
it on the website.
I would like
to thank those whom attended our show On April 4th. I saw a lot
of familiar faces there. Many people whom used to attend our events
in the past returned to show their support for WAM. We don't claim
to be the best, but we do try our best to put on the best show
for you, the fans.
